Town Art, Tokyo
Town Art is a pioneer of public art in Japan having been established in 1983. They have been providing a comprehensive public art service which includes research and analysis of art objects for public display, the planning, execution, management and maintenance of exhibits for over twenty years. In addition they host lectures and events on Public Art and assist younger artists to develop their practice.
In 2008 Town Art invited Richard Brecknock to present the Town Art lecture vol.2 Round Table in Tokyo, the lecture titled “Culture and Creativity in the City”, provided an overview of public art policy and practice in Australia.
