GEELONG PUBLIC ART STRATEGY
Client: City of Greater Geelong, VIC
Brecknock Consulting was engaged to work with Council to develop a Public Art Strategy through extensive consultation with internal Council staff, with the arts and general community, and with private sector developers. The Connecting People, Place & Environment strategy provides a structured approach to the delivery of Council initiated public artworks and provides a structure for Council and private sector partnerships. The Strategy, endorsed unanimously by Council, is comprised of: Framework 1: activation, creativity & expression which provides a range of goals and actions associated with the planning of new permanent and temporary artworks in public places across the municipality; Framework 2: delivering, resourcing & preserving which provides goals and actions associated with planning and managing of the commissioning and maintenance of public art.
